St Swithins Lane has been the home of generosity and good cheer since the young Scot, George Sandeman came down from Perthshire in 1790 to establish the Sandeman Port Company, a blender and bottler of Port wines from Portugal and Sherries from Spain which he exported to all corners of the globe. St Swithins Lane has been the home of Sandeman Port until 1967.
With the backing of new owners, Sandeman has returned to St Swithins Lane where we are opening Bar 1790, The Don and The Sandeman Club, creating a wine lover’s environment that celebrates the historical connection with Sandeman Port and its listed cellars.
The Sandeman Quarter consists of The Bar 1790, The Don Restaurant and Private Dining Rooms
